Studs and Service Providers
Please note – for WA based mares you will need to check eligibility for Vicbred and other Eastern States schemes if you are contemplating having your WA born foal eligible for any of their schemes. You should do this before you select your stallion. Some schemes do not cover stallions that are not resident in that particular state, and do not cover foals that are born outside that state.
(If you have Stallions at stud or are offering Services to Breeders in WA and would like to be listed here, please contact WASBA info@wasba.com.au . Please note: go to the HRA website for a more complete list.)

When feeding horses, remember that they are continuous grazers and need to have small amounts of feed working through their digestive system to keep it functioning optimally:
- make any dietary changes slowly
- Avoid large grain meals as huge portions of highly fermentable diets can be quite harmful to the gut flora and can be a source of risk for developing gastric ulcers. Opt to spread out concentrates into several smaller rations
- Prevent long periods of fasting (for example, lack of access to feed), as this can lead to ulcers
- Ensure water is available 24/7 to maintain good hydration and facilitate continuous movement of contents through the gastrointestinal tract
- Turn out and exercise to assist gut function
- Have a parasite prevention program
- Maintain teeth health
